Yae Kokonoe

Yae Kokonoe is one of the main female characters in In Another World With My Smartphone (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni). She is a young samurai girl (appearing in her early teens at the start) from the eastern country of Eashen, a land inspired by feudal Japan.

She is the daughter of a renowned samurai family and left her home to travel and hone her swordsmanship skills. Yae is a dedicated warrior who highly values honor, discipline, and constant training. She has no magical affinities but excels as a Badass Normal fighter with her blade, often using techniques like powerful shockwave roars.

She speaks in a distinctive, old-fashioned samurai-style manner (ending sentences with "de gozaru" in Japanese). She joins Touya Mochizuki's group after he helps her fend off attackers, impressed by his kindness and strength, and eventually becomes one of his wives.

Yae is also known for her enormous appetite (often joked about as a "human garbage disposal" that strains the group's budget) and her dignified yet earnest personality.
