Chi-Chi is a key supporting character in the Dragon Ball anime, best known as Goku's wife and the mother of Gohan and Goten.
In her early appearances during the original Dragon Ball series, she's introduced as a shy, sweet, and somewhat fearful young girl — the princess of Fire Mountain and daughter of the Ox-King. She has a notable tomboyish side even then, showing fighting ability (including during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament as a teenager, where she competes impressively).
As the story progresses into Dragon Ball Z and beyond (which is where she appears most prominently in the anime), Chi-Chi undergoes a major personality shift. She becomes fiery, strong-willed, and often very temperamental — frequently scolding Goku for his carefree, battle-obsessed lifestyle and prioritizing education and safety for her sons over fighting. She's portrayed as an overprotective "tiger mom" type who nags the Z Fighters, has explosive angry outbursts, and insists on normal family life amid all the world-ending threats.
Physically, adult Chi-Chi is typically depicted with long, straight black hair (often tied back), fair skin, black eyes, and a slender build. She usually wears practical, Chinese/Korean-inspired outfits or housewife-style clothing.
Overall in the anime, she's a well-meaning but intense family matriarch whose fierce devotion to her loved ones often puts her at odds with the series' fighting focus — making her both comedic and endearing in her own way.
